Final Cut Subtle Body Surrounds

This project took a lot of work. And I think I put forth alot of effort.
Things did not always work out, and by the time I was cutting every thing together I was pretty frustrated. I think that could be an apparent overtone of this piece. I don't want to say a whole lot more. I don't like talking about the "meaning" of my work or what it means to me. I think its kind of personal, and to be honest I really don't completely know. I do know I bent the rules for this project but I didn't break them.

Rough Cut Sketch 3 Think

My buddy Pat asked me to film him giving a speech so he could watch it, and know what to do different when he had to do it for real
I told him he was thinking to much and screwing up because of it. I told him he was moving around to much and looked nervous. This took a lot of work in editing and its not exactly were I would like it. Its still a work in progress.

Rough Cut Sketch 2 Window Lizard

I got this picture by putting my camera on a monopod and spining it around. I did this several times And I think it makes a lot of movement . The lizard eating the baby mouse belongs to a buddy of mine. He really inspired this video because he was a very church loving dude who also loved feeding mice to his pet snakes and lizards.

Rough Cut Sketch 1 Green Pulse

I had a good time with this video. I really like dark places and I like the way the light make every thing green.

Production Strategy

I really like dark places like basements, the problem with shooting in a dark place is there isn't much light, and with the cameras we have, this could be a problem. I will have to go to places like the parking garage that have some light and thin I will have to change the settings in quick time.
I want to interact with my subject, do things like open doors and move objects I find. I want to take many different shots of the same thing from different angles I think this will create a movement in my video and more quality.
For my sounds I want to record different humming sound from vents a machines. Also I want to record musicians warming up with out them knowing I am recording them.

Ten Questions

1 How can I play with color?
2 How can I use layers creatively?
3 How can I integrate the human form?
4 How can I use fast cuts in a sequence?
5 How can I use repetition with out boring the viewer?
6 How can sound be used with emotion?
7 Can I sneak a recorder in some place inappropriate?
8 Can I rearrange the sound I have recorded to sound different?
9 Can I be abstract and have a narrative?
10 Is it possible to bend and reinterpret the meaning of found footage
with out breaking the integrity of the project?

Drift Assessment 4

4 My favorite experience was recording for drift one. I was standing by an intersection and there was a car stuck in ice struggling to get out. There was also the sound of church bells off in the distance. I was able to have my recorder sett just right and it was perfect.
